  • Moved to Taipei to work as Data Scientist on fraud detection and CRM modeling.
  • I turned raw data into concrete business actions and kept ML models in production.

(2019 - 2020) NTHU Artificial Intelligence Lab (Taiwan)

  • I joined the NTHU AI Lab as a Research Data Scientist to use generative models (VAEs) for automatic music generation, resulting in a few publications and talks!

  • Developed firmware for the world's first app-controlled Analog Modular Pedalboard, a natural continuation of my guitar pedal thesis.

  • Internship developing strain measurement software + hardware (yes, I soldered the PCBs and coded it myself).
  • I decided against staying after graduation and moved to Taiwan instead (it felt more adventurous)!

(2017 - 2018) EDP (Spain)

  • Internship at the Aboño Thermal Power Plant in northern Spain. I assisted turbine renovations that boosted efficiency by >4%.

(2016 - 2017) Xiaomi (China)

  • Paused my engineering degree for 6 months to work as a Software Specialist at Xiaomi.
  • A crash-course in software localization (MIUI OS) and adapting to a different work culture (KTVs included)!

(2015 - 2016) Beijing Institute of Technology (China)

  • My first taste of living in Asia.
  • Spent a year as an exchange student in Electronic Engineering, which inspired me to start learning Mandarin.

  • Moved to the Spanish northern coast in Gijón to study Electronic and Automation Engineering.
  • Built a programmable digital effects pedal from scratch for my thesis—kicking off my interest in audio hardware and DSP.

Early Years

  • Born in Ponferrada. Growing up, I moved around and lived in Macotera (Salamanca), Sahagún (León), and Setúbal (Portugal)—just south of Lisbon, right after crossing the interminable Vasco da Gama bridge.
  • When I was 9, I visited China (Beijing and Yunnan) for the first time with my parents. It must have left a lasting impression on me, as I would end up moving back to live there for almost two years later in life.
